Less than 100 Days to Go! Celebrating 20 Years
of PGA TOUR Golf in Mexico |

As the calendar advances, the WWT Championship draws near! This November, we’ll celebrate the 20th anniversary edition of the event, marking two decades since it became the first PGA TOUR event held in Mexico and the first-ever official TOUR event held outside the United States or Canada. What began as a new addition to the TOUR schedule has grown into the most anticipated golf tournament in all of Latin America, bringing world-class competition to Los Cabos each year.
This year’s event will once again showcase Diamante’s dramatic setting along the Pacific Ocean, hosting the world’s best players for four rounds of championship golf in Latin America’s premier golf destination—Los Cabos. | Los Cabos Junior Golf Series: A Winning Start |
|
As part of our mission to deliver exceptional event experiences through the platform of golf and celebrate Mexico and Los Cabos, the WWT Championship has launched the “Los Cabos Junior Golf Series” in conjunction with the Diamante First Tee.
The Los Cabos Junior Golf Series is a series of nine-hole tournaments created to give young golfers in Los Cabos an opportunity to play, connect, and compete—testing their skills on the course while, above all, having fun and learning. The format is individual stroke play, with age-based divisions for boys and girls.
The inaugural event took place Sunday, July 26, at Cabo San Lucas Country Club and brought together 44 young golfers with ages from 7 to 18 for an afternoon of great competition and good sportsmanship. The series is a part of the tournament’s continuous efforts to build a lasting connection with the local community by introducing young players to the game and to the values upon which the First Tee program is built: Honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, responsibility, confidence, perseverance, respect, courtesy, empathy, and judgment.

| Kick-Off Pro-Am Benefiting Casa Hogar |
|
To open tournament week each year, the WWT Championship hosts the Kick-Off Pro-Am, giving amateurs the chance to have the first glimpse at El Cardonal in tournament conditions alongside a PGA TOUR professional. Signups are now open with limited teams remaining.
New for this year, proceeds from the Kick-Off Pro-Am will benefit Casa Hogar in support of their mission to provide a home and care for vulnerable children in the state of Baja California Sur and to Educate and Elevate: Educate in academics, life skills, moral values, spiritual values and social values. Elevate to levels beyond the norm within our society.
Held on Monday, November 2, with an 11 AM shotgun start, the Kick-Off Pro-Am features groups of four amateurs and one PGA TOUR professional in a shamble format. Each foursome receives a deluxe gift package and access to The Woods VVIP hospitality venue on Pro-Am day, along with invitations to the Wednesday night Pro-Am Awards Celebration.
Beyond the golf, the Kick-Off Pro-Am reflects WWT Championship’s commitment to giving back to Los Cabos, using tournament week to support an organization that works year-round on behalf of local children.

| Oasis Short-Am Benefiting Diamante First Tee |

At the heart of tournament week during the WWT Championship, a special tradition was born when the tournament arrived at Diamante in 2023. Combining the excitement of a traditional PGA TOUR Pro-Am with the passion and impact of junior golf and the First Tee, the Oasis Short-Am is a 12-hole Pro-Am where our generous sponsors and donors sign up for an unforgettable round of golf with a talented young player from the First Tee as well as a PGA TOUR pro. All funds raised through the event benefit the Diamante First Tee’s various programs.
More than a tournament, it’s a multigenerational encounter filled with learning, inspiration and indelible moments. Year after year, it stands out as one of the most anticipated highlights of the week.
Held on Tuesday, November 3, the Oasis Short-Am uses a best ball format, with groups of three amateurs, one PGA TOUR professional, and one First Tee junior golfer. Each participant receives a gift package, food and beverage throughout play, and an invitation to the Wednesday night Pro-Am Awards Celebration.
The event gives First Tee juniors a rare opportunity to play alongside PGA TOUR professionals, reinforcing the program’s mission of using golf to teach young people the values of the game of golf.
