| BILLY HORSCHEL JOINS FIELD AT NEXT WEEK’S 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION OF THE WORLD WIDE TECHNOLOGY CHAMPIONSHIP |
|
Billy Horschel has committed to tee it up next week at the World Wide Technology Championship in Los Cabos, Mexico. Horschel is an eight-time winner on the PGA Tour, including the 2014 season-long FedExCup championship, and a fan favorite. 2026 will be his ninth career appearance at the event.
Also announced today in the field are several additional standout players, including World Wide Technology’s brand ambassadors, some of golf’s brightest rising stars as well as several Mexican and Latin American players. All these players join the leading names previously announced, which included Tony Finau, Jackson Koivun, Luke Donald, Ryan Gerard and defending champion Ben Griffin.
Representing title sponsor WWT in the field as brand ambassadors are Canadian Taylor Pendrith and Americans Keith Mitchell and 2024 champion Austin Eckroat as well as the aforementioned Griffin and Donald. Together, the WWT ambassadors have combined for 12 career PGA Tour victories.
The future stars of the PGA Tour will be represented as well with names like Blades Brown, Nick Dunlap, and Ben James among next week’s competitors. Brown is a record-breaking teenager who has earned his way onto the PGA Tour at only 19 years old. Dunlap made history for his win as an amateur on the PGA Tour two years ago at The American Express. James finished No. 1 on the PGA Tour University rankings this season and has since notched four top-five finishes on the Tour. Also confirmed to compete are David Ford, Johnny Keefer, Jay Leng, Jr., Gordon Sargent, Neal Shipley and also Preston Stout of Oklahoma State University. Stout is the No. 1 ranked amateur golfer in the world and earned his place in the field via his individual win at the 2026 Cabo Collegiate.
Lastly, Guadalajara’s Alvaro Ortiz leads a strong contingent of players from Mexico and Latin America—Ortiz has his PGA Tour card for 2027 already confirmed via his season-long performance on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2026. Joining him from Mexico will be Alejandro Madariaga and Jorge Villar, who were victorious earlier this month in the WWT Championship’s Mexican qualifying events, and Kristoffer Ventura who holds dual citizenship of Mexico and Norway but was born and raised in Puebla. Also returning to Diamante will be fellow Latin American players Camilo Villegas (Colombia), Emiliano Grillo (Argentina), Alejandro Tosti (Argentina), Marcelo Rozo (Colombia) and Rafa Campos (Puerto Rico).
The full field of players will be announced on Friday at 2 pm local Los Cabo time after the PGA Tour’s commitment deadline. And the final field additions will be confirmed via the tournament’s Monday Qualifier which will identify four more participants after an 18-hole open qualifying event to be held at Oleada Golf Links in Cabo San Lucas on Monday, November 2.
