What is a volunteer?

A volunteer is some one who is an ambassador, who volunteers his or her time to work at the World Wide Technology Championship to support the event and the local community. A World Wide Technology Championship Volunteer performs various functions to assure the successful operation of México’s pioneering PGA TOUR Event. Some volunteers are golfers who participate because they love golf and want to be involved in this historic tournament, while others are totally new to golf and get involved because they want to support the community and its most significant event.

Why does a PGA TOUR event need volunteers?

All PGA TOUR events are operated with the help of many individuals who donate their time to the tournament. Due to the nature of golf and the complex setup of a major golf tournament, hundreds of people are required to help with the operations from crowd control to scoring to helping the professional golfers in various ways. Relying on volunteers to perform these functions allows PGA TOUR events throughout the United States, Canada and now México to donate tremendous amounts of money to charity each year.

Where do the volunteers come from?

Many volunteers become involved as individuals simply because they love golf or they want to support a major event in their community. But many others are involved as part of their company, club or charity organization, which have formed partnerships with the World Wide Technology Championship.

Volunteers have come from many locations all over México and the world.

How many volunteers are there?

There are more than 600 volunteers who participate in the program each year.

What does my volunteer package include?

You will get a polo, outerwear piece, a hat, and a small backpack if you volunteer as well as your credential lanyard and complimentary tickets. Every volunteer has the right to a meal and a box lunch the day the volunteer, discounts on concession areas, volunteer appreciation day and more surprises.
