Cabo Collegiate: There are 24 alumni of this prestigious collegiate event who are in the field and include: Ludvig Aberg, Austin Cook, MJ Daffue, Nico Echavarria, Austin Eckroat, Doug Ghim, Will Gordon, Harry Higgs, Kelly Kraft, Andrew Landry, David Lingmerth, Maverick McNealy, C.T. Pan, Isaiah Salinda, Matthias Schwab, Robby Shelton, Greyson Sigg, Austin Smotherman, Preston Summerhays, Trevor Werbylo, Brandon Wu, Cameron Young, Kevin Yu and Carl Yuan.
Season Champions: While there are 30 players in the field who have won on the PGA TOUR in the past two years, twelve of those have won this season. Sahith Theegala is the most recent winner, having won the Fortinet Championship just over a month ago and Lucas Glover won back-to-back in August. Other winners this season include Mackenzie Hughes, Adam Svensson, Chris Kirk, Nico Echavarria, Nick Hardy, Davis Riley, Emilano Grillo, Akshay Bhatia and Luke List
International Players: There are 38 international players in the field, representing 16 different countries.
Mexico Match Play presented by National: The annual qualifier for a Mexican player to get into this week’s field was held at The Dunes course a month ago. Jose Cristobal Islas, an amateur from Pachuca, HGL won the match play.
Open Qualifiers: The four players to earn a spot in the field via the Open Qualifier are Billy Davis, Hunter Epson, Jeffrey Kang, and Peter Kuest. The Qualifier was held on October 18 in San Diego.
Qualifying From Zozo: There are two players in the field who qualified by virtue of finishing in the top ten at the Zozo Championship in Japan, the PGA TOUR event prior to the WWT Championship. Ryo Ishikawa, an 18-time winner on the Japan Golf Tour, finished T4 and fellow Japanese player Kensei Hirati, was T6.
Career Victories: Collectively, the 132-player field has 143 career victories on the PGA TOUR. Matt Kuchar and Brandt Snedeker lead the group with nine career titles each while Stewart Cink has accumulated eight wins.
Major Champions: Four Major Championship winners will compete this week and include: Stewart Cink (Open Championship); Jason Dufner (PGA Championship); Lucas Glover (U.S. Open); Jimmy Walker (PGA Championship).
Past Champions: Four past champions of the WWT Championship are here—Brian Gay, Matt Kuchar, Patton Kizzire, Charley Hoffman.
Most Appearances: Scott Piercy leads a group of players with 12 starts in the WWT Championship prior to this week. Brian Gay and Charley Hoffman have 11 starts and Russell Knox ten.
