Cabo Collegiate: There are 24 alumni of this prestigious collegiate event who are in the field and include: Nico Echavarria, Austin Eckroat, Doug Ghim, Will Gordon, Harry Higgs, Kelly Kraft, Maverick McNealy, Robby Shelton, Austin Smotherman, Brandon Wu, Cameron Young, and Carl Yuan.
Season Champions: While there are 22 players in the field who have won on the PGA TOUR in the past two years, five of those have won this season. Nico Echavarria is the most recent winner, having won the Zozo Championship just over a week ago. Other winners from this season in the field include: Austin Eckroat (Cognizant Classic), Harry Hall (ISCO Championship), Jhonattan Vegas (3M Open), Patton Kizzire (PROCORE Championship)
International Players: There are 32 international players in the field, representing 18 different countries.
Mexican Qualifiers: Santiago De La Fuente earned the first spot via the Clasificatorio Mexicano presented by National Car Rental on October 8. Isidro Benítez also earned a spot in the field by winning the Mexico Match Play on October 9. Both of these events were exclusive to Mexican golfers.
Open Qualifiers: The four players to earn a spot in the field via the Open Qualifier are Dylan Brack, Ryan Gerard, Zach Bauchou, and William Moll.
Qualifying From Zozo: The last event on the PGA TOUR schedule prior to the WWT was the Zozo Championship. Earning a spot into this week’s tournament via their performances was Nico Echavarria, who won. Also, Rico Hoey, Max Greyserman and Alejandro Tosti all finished in the top 10.
Career Victories: Collectively, the 120-player field has 112 career victories on the PGA TOUR. Matt Kuchar leads the group with nine career titles.
Major Champion/Ryder Cup Captain: Two Major Championship winners will compete this week, Danny Willett (2016 Masters) and Lucas Glover (2009 U.S. Open). Luke Donald, captain for the victorious European Ryder Cup team in 2023 will also compete.
Past Champions: Five past champions of the WWT Championship are here—Erik van Rooyen (2023), Matt Kuchar (2018), Patton Kizzire (2017), Charley Hoffman (2014) and Harris English (2013).
Most Appearances: Scott Piercy leads a group of players with 13 starts in the WWT Championship prior to this week. Charley Hoffman has 12 starts and both Jhonattan Vegas and Chez Reavie have 11.
