Cabo Collegiate: There are 27 alumni of this prestigious collegiate event who are in the field and include: Mason Andersen, Frankie Capan III, Luke Clanton, Pierceson Coody, Quade Cummins, Cristobal Del Solar, Nick Dunlap, Nico Echavarria, Austin Eckroat, Doug Ghim, Will Gordon, Harry Higgs, Johnny Keefer, Taylor Moore, Trey Mullinax, John Pak, Chandler Phillips, Matthew Riedel, Isaiah Salinda, Gordon Sargent, Greyson Sigg, Jackson Suber, Michael Thorbjornsen, Braden Thornberry, Kris Ventura, Tyler Weaver and Kevin Yu.
Season Champions: While there are 31 players in the field who have earned victories on the PGA TOUR in the past two seasons, eight players in the field have won this year—Nick Taylor, Sony Open in Hawaii; Joe Highsmith, Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches; Garrick Higgo, Corales Punta Cana Championship; Ben Griffin (2), Zurich Classic of New Orleans, Charles Schwab Challenge; J.J. Spaun, U.S. Open; William Mouw, ISCO Championship; Steven Fisk, Sanderson Farms Championship; Michael Brennan, Bank of Utah Championship. Fisk and Brennan won two of the last three events on the FedExCup Fall schedule.
International Players: There are 42 international players in the field, representing 20 different countries and territories.
Mexican Qualifiers: Emilio Gil Leyva earned the first spot via the Clasificatorio Mexicano presented by National Car Rental on October 5. Alejandro Madariaga also earned a spot in the field by winning the Mexico Match Play on October 6. Both of these events were exclusive to Mexican golfers.
Qualifying From Bank of Utah Championship: The last event on the PGA TOUR schedule prior to the WWT Championship was the Bank of Utah Championship. Earning a spot into this week’s tournament via their performances Michael Brennan, who won the tournament and earned his PGA TOUR membership and exempt status on TOUR for the next two years. Also, David Ford, Thorbjørn Olesen, and Coody Pierceson, earned spots by finishing in the top ten.
Career Victories: Collectively, the 120-player field has 94 career victories on the PGA TOUR. Matt Kuchar and Brandt Snedeker lead the group with nine career titles.
Major Champions/Ryder Cup Captain: Three Major Championship winners will compete this week—J.J. Spaun (2025 U.S. Open), Wyndham Clark (2023 U.S. Open) and Francesco Molinari (2018 Open Championship). Luke Donald, captain for the victorious European Ryder Cup team in 2023 and 2025, will also compete.
Past Champions: Four past champions of the WWT Championship are here—Austin Eckroat (2024), Erik van Rooyen (2023), Matt Kuchar (2018), and Patton Kizzire (2017).
Young PGA TOUR Pros: Promising young pros Luke Clanton (21 years old), David Ford (23) and Gordon Sargent (22) are in the field. Clanton and Ford recently earned exemptions on the PGA TOUR for next season via the PGA TOUR University program and Ford did so for this season. Sargent was the No. 1 ranked player on the World Amateur Golf Ranking in 2023 and Clanton achieved the same status in 2024. Ford is a former No. 1 player on the Golfweek Jr. Rankings.
