Q. All right, fantastic round, 10-under 62 tying your career best on the PGA TOUR. Just a few comments on how you got it done today.
CAMERON PERCY: Yeah, just hit a really nice drive down the first and a beautiful 3-wood about 30 feet, I guess, and rolled it about six foot by, which I didn't want to do, then and made it.
Then holed like a 15-footer on 3, which was nice. Then I holed a pitch shot from about 75 yards and that sort of kicked me along to 5 under, I think.
Then played really nicely through 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14. I hit the ball beautifully. Didn't hit it quite close enough coming in, but I had a few looks. I couldn't make 'em all.
Q. This is going to sound like a stupid question given your score, but thoughts on the course? Obviously it's new to everybody. I know fairways are wide.
CAMERON PERCY: Yeah.
Q. Obviously it suits you well. Just a few comments about the course.v
CAMERON PERCY: Yeah, it's wide, but you notice yourself sort of getting a bit lackadaisical on a few tee shots. And there's a few crosswinds where if you hit the wrong shot, you're going to lose it in the rubbish. It looked wide, but you lose concentration, there's a few holes where there's not a lot to aim at so you've got to really concentrate because it's, oh, yeah, I should be able to hit this, but then you don't. It kind of makes you -- it's a second-shot course. The greens are tricky and there's a lot of plateaus. It gives you the tee shot and then you've got to hit a good second shot.
Q. You're first off in the morning you said. What do you do at this point, just go back --
CAMERON PERCY: Yeah, I'll take a shuttle back into town, grab a shower. I'm filthy right now because walking through -- there's a lot of sand and stuff to walk through, so I don't feel overly clean right now, so shower and have some dinner. I'm on the tee in like 12 hours or something.
Q. Finally, last question, you're coming up on 50th birthday. You mentioned going to Champs Tour Q-School in Phoenix next month.
CAMERON PERCY: Yeah.
Q. How much of a boost, encouragement is a round like this for the bigger picture of knowing you've still got a lot of game?
CAMERON PERCY: I'm 152 I think on the Money List or FedExCup, sorry, so finishing Top-150 at my age would be fantastic. That's sort of -- I want to at least do that, but if I can keep the ball rolling like I did today, I should be able to finish a lot higher than that, and then lead into Q-School with the Champions Tour. Yeah, I'm looking forward to that.
Q. Is this the first time you've played in an event here?
CAMERON PERCY: Yeah, I've never been.
Q. I know you haven't been here, but have you played in this tournament before when it was Mayakoba?
CAMERON PERCY: Once or twice I played there. I didn't play a lot there. I was always second reserve, first reserve. I was there a lot but waiting, waiting. Yeah, that's the way it goes.
