Q. Round 2 in, birdied three of the last four holes. How are you feeling about your round?
AUSTIN ECKROAT: Yeah, I feel really good. Yesterday I probably was a little cleaner, shot 4 under in the conditions. I wouldn't say I was off, but just slightly not as solid as yesterday and to come out and birdie three of the last four and get it to 5 under par, really happy with that.
Q. How's the game plan game moving around the course? Is it a little less stressful when the wind's down?
AUSTIN ECKROAT: Yeah, you almost get used to having the wind as a backboard, but then coming out here today and have nothing when we started is definitely more comfortable.
Q. World Wide Technology ambassador, what have the duties been like this week and how was the par 3 last night?
AUSTIN ECKROAT: Yeah, they're great people to work with, World Wide Technology is. We've had a couple outings and they're very enjoyable.
Last night we had a celebrity par 3 shootout and got to watch Keith Mitchell hit a hole-in-one on the last hole, it was pretty fun. I had to leave early since I teed off at 7:00 a.m. this morning, but a lot of good stuff. They do a great job.
Q. What was his reaction like?
AUSTIN ECKROAT: It was great. Everybody went nuts. He starts running down the fairway and I was a little worried, my mind went straight to Tony Finau whenever he rolled his ankle whenever he made the holeinone on Wednesday at the Masters. It was great, though. Dead sprint, Harry Higgs about tackled him and it was fun.
Q. Tell me about the chip-in, club you used?
AUSTIN ECKROAT: On the last hole? It was a putter from a few steps off the green. Yeah, it felt like it was one of those that you got over it and you kind of felt like you were going to make and actually worked pretty great.
Q. Other birdies today, were they long putts?
AUSTIN ECKROAT: No. Really the last two holes, for the whole week so far is really the only ones that were outside chances. The rest of them have been, the par 5s being gettable. Then some really good approach shots. Maybe if the putter will heat up, we'll have a really special week.
Q. Are you going at that play any more this season?
AUSTIN ECKROAT: Yeah, I'm going to play the RSM as well this season. I was actually talking to some other guys out here that are in a similar situation and I can't, you know, practice with a longterm goal in mind. Or I can, but it's tough for me, I need shortterm goals. I'm not a guy who can go and take a ton of time off and start working on things for next season. I need more shortterm goals than taking three months off. I love to play tournament golf, that's why I do it.
Q. How do you feel about your season overall?
AUSTIN ECKROAT: It was a great season. Of all the check marks and goals that I had for the year, the only one I didn't get was making it to East Lake. To knock out most of the goals for the season was a plus. Hoping to do more of the same next year.
