Q. (In progress) the game at your level, but it doesn't take too hard when I look at your numbers. You hit 18 of 18 greens today, that's a nice way to 65. When's the last time you've done that in competition, do you remember?
JOE HIGHSMITH: Oh, man, maybe last year a couple times on some easy courses, but to do it today was pretty solid, for sure.
Q. So do the numbers tell the story? Were the irons the key today? Were they on point? Is that what gets you to 65 out there?
JOE HIGHSMITH: I think so, yeah, for sure. And I made a lot of pretty long putts and those are always kind of game changers. I was talking to my college coach last night about the importance of hitting it close from the fairway. I have been doing some of that, but I really putted well today so that kind of saved me, for sure.
Q. We see a lot of holes kind of stick out, especially on the back nine. It's full green light on the back nine. No. 12's pushed back this week, it's pretty obvious you see that false front, but 15 completely changes colors today. What's going on out there at 15?
JOE HIGHSMITH: Yeah, that hole is absolutely ridiculous today. Like that pin, I mean, I love it because it's really hard, but there's like nowhere to hit the ball other than like 60 feet. And there's like so much potential. I mean, I hit it to a pretty good spot and I still had like a 7 in my mind if I putted off the green and from down there there's nowhere to hit it. Especially it was super windy when we went through there, so it was probably one of the hardest holes I've ever played for it being 440 or whatever it is. It was a great hole and I was, yeah, very glad to get out of there with 4 somehow.
Q. Before we let you go, it's going to be bunched on top of this leaderboard, no one's getting away, a lot of players with great days like yourself, so you're right there. Knowing that you need to just go make birdies and do the same, in a way does that kind of free you up on a Sunday? There's no point in steering it around, right?
JOE HIGHSMITH: Yeah, I think so, for sure. And that's just how it is generally out here. It's like if you go out and like try to protect, whatever, you just get absolutely lapped. It's like I know tomorrow I still have to make seven, eight, nine birdies just to finish in the top-5 or whatever. Yeah, it kind of keeps you aggressive and all that. There's nothing to hold onto because you'll get passed by the guy in 30th. Yeah, looking forward to tomorrow and hopefully keep it going.
